Czann’s Brewing, May 7th, 9-4pm
The What & When:
Big Brew Day is held on the first Saturday in May each year and is promoted by the AHA (American Homebrewers Association). The Music City Brewers have historically had a professional brewery create the wort in bulk and they allow us to brew at their facility with our own kettles. The grain bill is typically 90% 2 Row, 5% Flaked Barley, 5% Crystal 15 – 45L. This allows you to be creative and make the beer your own by steeping different grains, using different hops and yeast. You are welcome to pick up your wort and brew at home, but it really is a lot of fun to brew on-site, or at least hang out with those that are. More details to come.
The Who:
Each year we plan how much wort needs to be created based on members in good standing, aka paid club members, we have, this year is no different. In order to receive at least 10 gallons of wort on Big Brew Day, you need to be in good standing. If you are not, I would like to encourage you to please visit https://www.musiccitybrewers.com/membership/ and renew your membership.
The Ask:
If you are planning on brewing on-site or picking up wort and brewing at home we need you to commit to a certain amount of wort by responding to this message. If this is on Facebook you can leave a comment in the thread below, but if you find this on our club website please email Joseph Nance @ musiccitybrewersclub@gmail.com. For those that sign up, you will get an email or be contacted about the event details.
Cheers,
