Announcing the 2017 Annual Music City Brew Off
November 10th and 11th, 2017
To all homebrewers, judges, stewards, and beer enthusiasts, I personally invite you to the 22nd Annual Music City Brew Off. We are continuing our efforts to make our competition the finest in the South East. Our competition this year will be held at the Clubhouse in the Horseshoe Bend Community in Nashville, TN (870 Red Tanager Ct, Nashville, 37221). We encourage attendees to stay at the nearby Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Nashville (100 Coley Davis Rd, 37221) that is located just off I-40. We don’t have a group rate, but room rates are around $120/night. You can call the hotel: (615) 662-0004 or book online. We will doing a deal with Uber or Lyft, so no fear of drinking and driving.
The guest speaker is Sean Jewett of East Nashville Beer Works.
This year we will be kicking off our festivities again with a taco bar catered by some of our MCB members, followed by our Guest Speaker. We are not charging for the dinner this year, donations accepted.
On Friday afternoon we will have a judging session starting around 3 pm. This will last approximately 3 hours. The dinner and presentation will follow starting at 7 pm. Saturday morning our BJCP/AHA Sanctioned Competition will continue. We will have a Judge and Steward orientation beginning at 8:30 am. Judging will start promptly at 9:00 am and end at noon. Lunch will be provided for all judges and stewards courtesy of the Music City Brewers. Following the judging will be the BOS round starting at approximately 2:00 pm and running till 4:00 pm. The Awards Ceremony and Raffle will begin at 5:00 and run until 7:00.
All 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners from beer categories 1-34 (we are using the 2015 BJCP Guidelines this year) will receive a medal. Best of Show will also receive a plaque and a gift certificate of $(75) from All Seasons Nashville. 2nd and 3rd Best of Show will also receive gift certificates ($50 for 2nd and $25 for 3rd). Best of Meads and Ciders will receive medals as well along with gift certificates from All Seasons Nashville (1st- $20, 2nd- $15, 3rd- $10).
Also ‘The Ed Tate Club Award’ will be given to one of the participating clubs with a minimum of 10 entries. The Ed Tate Award represents a quality award based on 10 categories of involvement. The winning club will receive an engraved plaque and will also be engraved on a permanent plaque held by the Music City Brewers.

After the awards ceremony we will have an NHC-style club night festivities! This portion of the event is returning this year after a resounding success last year. All clubs are welcome to participate and bring a jockey box or whatever set up you would like to serve examples of your clubs favorite brews!
